same purpose
This doesn't serve the same purpose as it used to serve.

This sounds so obvious, but now that I actually communicate with different people in different textual ways, it feels weird to write passively into a void. If I'm not writing to anyone, why am I not writing something privately?

Right now it's a struggle without an immediately obvious payback.
